Above F core and K core is a large penthouse with an outdoor area for cooling towers.
The penthouse contains a lift motor room, gigantic water tanks, air handling units, extraction fans, control panels, water softening plant and cooling towers.
The cooling towers force air through a mist of water, causing some of it to evaporate and this cools the water. The water is then returned to the chiller plant, where it absorbs heat from the refrigeration process, it is this heat that the cooling towers remove.
