3D models – objects

This page is for my 3D (Blender) models that are not buildings in their own right, such as control panels, furniture and pumps.

Bingo equipment

  • Prize bingo terminal and seat
  • Bingo blower with balls – animated using rigid bodies and the vortex force object – great fun!

Mechanical and electrical equipment

  • Boilers
  • Pumps – several types
  • Hot water calorifier tanks
  • Heater/cooler batteries (heat exchangers)
  • Large gate valves
  • Centrifugal fans
  • Ventilation grilles and diffusers
  • Equipment needed but not started:
  • Cooling towers
  • Cold water storage tanks
  • Transformers
  • Fuse/switch panels
  • Low voltage distribution board
  • Lift equipment partly in progress

Architectural details

Industrial folding doors, made for a fictional hospital rooftop plantroom but also applicable to the OS Services Block and lots of other workshop buildings or industrial buildings. These were my first project using ‘armatures’ to allow a kind of animation by moving one part of the door and the other parts moving as well.

Control panels

Catering equipment

As I have produced several buildings containing commercial restaurants then the back-of-house commercial kitchen equipment is a vital part of the scene.

  • General purpose oven
  • Boiling tops (hobs)
  • Boiling pans
  • Range cookers
  • Deep fat fryers
  • Drinking water fountains
  • Bar counters and shutters
  • Equipment needed but not started:
  • Bain Maries and servery
  • Steamer ovens
  • Dishwashers
  • Kitchen extract hoods/valances
  • Pot wash sinks
  • Griller
  • Griddles
  • Refrigeration!
    • Built-in freezer/cold room.
    • Standalone refrigerator
    • Standalone freezer
  • Laundry equipment?

Furniture

  • Cafeteria tables
  • Chairs

TV Studio equipment

  • Monitors
  • VT machines

OS equipment

Specific equipment for my Ordnance Survey office models

  • Plan press
  • Illuminated light table

Equipment required but not started:

  • Print
    • Printing presses – I like a challenge but that is probably beyond me due to the complexity and lack of reference materials. It would be nice to have a model of say the Crabtree machines from Maybush. I will see what models are available online.
    • Proving presses
    • Print Finishing equipment/Map Mounting
      • Guillotines
      • Casing machines
    • Letterpress
    • Filmsetting equipment
  • Repro
    • Plate whirlers
    • Process cameras
    • Arc lamps
    • Exposing lamps
    • Contact frames
    • Graining equipment
    • Spraying equipment
    • Helio sinks
    • Wash viewers etc
    • Film dryers
  • Air survey equipment – like printing presses, far too complex for me so will hopefully find something online – Wild stereoplotters for example.
  • IT equipment
    • ICL mainframe
    • Punch card readers/writers
    • Tape drive cabinets
    • Hard drive cabinets
    • Magnetic tape racks
    • Xynix plotter
    • Digitising tables
  • PABX (telephone exchange) and switchboard – probably too complex but most large complexes of that era would have had one so should be common if not simple.
  • Exhibition Centre content
  • Sanitary fittings
    • WCs
    • Basins
    • Cleaners’ sinks
  • Tea Stations
    • Urns
    • Milk boilers
    • Trolleys
