DFUS – a Racal-Milgo MPS 24 modem link and standard telephone. According to the Centre for Computing History, “The MPS24 is a synchronous modem, presumably working at 2400 baud”.
This was a more convenient method of transferring mapping data to/from HQ from the DFUS workstations in the field than the previous method of using cassette tape/data cartridges.
