Digital computer used for digitising – the Teletype printer on the left was used for closing jobs and could also report stats on the number of points you had digitised on a particular job. The clipboard was used to record the job number, table number and name of the draughtsperson.
The actual computer/processor is fairly small but the cabinets housing that and the tape drives are gigantic! This was located in the office accommodation rather than in the main computer suite in West Block but was partitioned off from the office with the ubiquitous battleship grey metal partitions.
