Call request relays, E lift. When somebody presses a button to call the lift or the buttons inside the lift car, the appropriate relay is energised. The relays are clearly labelled with floor numbers and U, D or C. U = up, D = down and C = call. This essentially tells the lift what to do.
These are attached to the back of the floor selector.
