Caption: HPL Littlejohn Camera 1
Description: This is camera 1 and the year about 1975 and I remember a crew of 3 people to operate it. This was Wally Smith Maurice Holohan and myself Rick Dack. most of the outputs from this camera were dish processed at that time and I do recall having to complete so many 10 000 to 25 000 reductions per day and this was about 4 sets of 10 000 components to reduce to 25 000 and the line gauges had to me measured with a microscope to achieve the specifications. I do remember the camera being scrapped as it was too costly to dismantle and transport so a team from workshops came one Saturday morning and cut up the tracks with welding gear and removed it in pieces. Richard hunt managed to buy the circular cross line screen that was used to produce halftone hill shadings for a few pounds and used it as a coffee table. After the camera was removed that area was turned into photo 1A exam area. Lift out vacuum copyboard on the left.
